On the former GASAG premises the biggest “pantry”of Berlin – a modern logistics and service centre for 500 employees – was built. This centre delivers goods to all Kaiser’s markets in and around Berlin. The building consists of four halls of different temperature zones provided with high-rise racks and 104 docking points for trucks. Offices and social facilities are used by the administration of the north-east region. After decontaminating the property, the building was built in just 12 months. The most extensive works included the foundations: 6,000 piles were driven up to 15m deep into the ground. GFB took over the general planning for this building project, incipient with implementation planning.
