Conrad Electronic SE plans to substantially expand the existing dispatching and storage capacities of its business location at Wernberg-Köblitz in Upper Palatinate. To that end, the existing Logistics Centre shall be enlarged by a 4th construction section. The Logistics Centre is located in the industrial area of the municipality of Wernberg-Köblitz next to the federal road B14 with direct connection to the A93 expressway.
The 4th construction section was erected with an approximate size of 175 mts x 75 mts and a height of approx. 24 mts. The newly erected building includes an automated high rise racking warehouse with commissioning services, additional loading capacities in the shipping area as well as staff rooms, technical rooms and office space.
High-tech warehouse logistics were used and the lowest possible limitations to the technical process were allowed by using load-bearing construction elements. The building was designed to meet the highest fire-safety technical standards and as a result, a wide-spanning, fire-resistant, load-bearing hangar building was conceived.
